Full of a cold but the show goes on..A busy day for this bass player who really should be thinking of slippers and pipe and the Dail Mail..Not likely..Lennon’s Bar between 8 and 10 tonight in Mathew Street, then a quick run up to the other end of the street for a session with the Shakers from 10 till 1am..back home to Manchester.. a beer..bed..up for brekkie at dinner then straight out to the Cavern again..hopefully with loving wife and daughter in tow so they can remember what i look like…Plus The RetroKicks second song is available free to download! Greetings from Manchester UK, the home of some of the biggest bands in musical history and also the home of probably the least famous ever…us, The Retrokicks!! Mind you. we’re pretty darn new to this..we’ve existed for 3…maybe 4 days…With a love of all things Powerpop, impeccable influences from bands world famous ( The Kinks, The Who, The Jam, The Undertones, The Buzzcocks, Blondie) and lots of not so famous but fantastic garage bands from the 60′s and 70′s, The RetroKicks aim to bring new pure perfect powerpop with a retro feel to you all. A new song will be released every few weeks for totally free download..All we ask is to have the opportunity to tell you about any physical releases you may be interested in, in the new year. A little about ourselves…I’m Martin Davies, have a been a musician for 26 years now, played all over world pretty much non stop in various rock n roll bands, and for the last two and a half years have had the pleasure of being bass guitarist for The Shakers, The world famous Cavern Clubs resident merseybeat band.These Liverpool lads really know how to rock and we play to tourists from all over the world every Saturday afternoon and Sunday night at the Cavern.. It’s a pleasure to be part of them, and we’re a terrific live band, with all the energy anyone can handle in this most famous of clubs.

Jeff Weston is a guitarist extrordinaire from Manchester..he’s played live in various bands pretty much all his life, with a style all of his own, combining his eclectic loves of punk, new wave, rock n roll, country, bluegrass and folk!! He and I go back 20 years now, and we’ve teamed up again because basically..we work damn well together!

Thats about it for now…i hope you enjoy our music as we get things sorted here and give you some free kick ass, fun, melodic simple powerpop… Our next song Good Times Gone is released sometime this week ending 29th October 2011..
